MLADEN MATERIC AND PETER HANDKE,
CO-PRODUCED BY THÉÂTRE GARONNE AND IMPRESARIO

Between 1992 and 2001, the Théâtre Garonne had an association with the Tattoo Theatre, which was founded by Mladen Materic in Yugoslavia at the beginning of the 1980s.  The company created several shows in Toulouse, including "Pourquoi la Cuisine?" in 2001, written by Peter Handke and directed by Mladen Materic.  As part of "Balkans in the City", the cycle of events accompanying Rio Loco, and to recall the longstanding alliance between the Théâtre Garonne and Mladen Materic, this play is being revived.  The kitchen of the Materic-Handke duo is not like any other.  After visiting this intriguing place where even the most ordinary objects take on a deep significance, and which reveals the remarkable strength of feeling and attitude of human comedy, you'll never look at your own kitchen in the same way again.
