One of the best
brass bands from
Central Europe
It looks like it's been raining brass instruments. Enthusiastic, frenzied, unstoppable notes. Irresistible good humour and manic optimism. The brass band of Serbian trumpet player Boban Markovic, now also featuring his son Marko, is one of the best in Central Europe, and that's really saying something. "I never would have believed you could play trumpet like that" Miles Davis once remarked about him, astonished by his devastating playing. Markovic also made a big impression on Emir Kusturica and Goran Bregovic, with the composer inviting him to contribute to the soundtrack of "Underground", winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1995. Now, this big guy takes his music all over the world.
