Bojan Z has never been one for playing safe. This dazzling Serb-born pianist, who has been based in France for the past 20 years, refuses to be 
pigeonholed with his music. Appreciated for his sense of lyricism and impressionist touch, Bojan, who won the Victoire du Jazz award in 2007 for his album "Xenophonia", regularly allows himself to be overcome by tangential ideas and 'experiences'. His nomadic jazz vocabulary, which includes traditional music from Eastern Europe and Africa, sometimes connects with electronic, electric or vocal techniques. Like in the performance he has created for Rio Loco, where he is joined by Napoleon Maddox, American leader of the hip-hop group ISWHAT?!
